CLAIMS ASSISTANCE

Being in a accident can be a difficult and stressful time, but we are here to help. We can assist you in making sure that you file your claim properly to whichever insurance company to reduce down time and get you back on the road as soon as possible. Often times filing a claim against the wrong company or filing it incorrectly can delay the claim or result in a denial. Speak with us if you ever have any questions regarding a claim or need assistance.

Here are some things to remember if you are ever in a accident:

  • Call the police immediately

  • If possible, do not move the vehicles until the police arrive

  • Take photos of your damage as well as the other vehicle's damage

  • If it is a multi-car collision, clearly indicate the sequence of events to the officer so that it can be noted properly on the police report.

WHAT TO DO AFTER AN ACCIDENT

  • Call us to make an initial report of the accident

  • Obtain a copy of the police report from your local precinct

  • Come in to our office to fill out your MV104 (your statement regarding what happened) or click on the link below to fill it out yourself and send us a copy.

If you choose to fill out the MV104 yourself, please follow these instructions to ensure it is filled out properly:

  • Fill in all boxes as each one provides valuable information to the insurance company. Start with the boxes on the top which include the accident date, time, number of vehicles, etc.

  • Regardless of what vehicle you are listed as on the police report, on the MV104 you are always to be listed as vehicle #1. Be sure to include your plate number in section 2.

  • In section 4, provide your statement of how the collision occurred under "How did the accident happen?". Remember that this should be in your own words and not a copy of the statement on the police report.

  • Section 5 should list all the people involved in the accident, starting with you and any passengers in your vehicle. If anyone is injured please indicated it here as well as on the top of the pages where it asks "Number Injured". If the amount of passengers exceeds the spaces provided, you can print out a second page to include the remaining passengers.

  • Section 6 is the insurance information for your vehicle. It is important to include your VIN and policy number in this section.
